Contains adult themes: this story covers an adult-video (AV) actress. Nothing explicit is described.
In brief: Japanese AV actress Karin Kitaoka, 23, told NEWSポストセブン in an interview published Nov. 3 that young men in the Haunted Mansion line at Tokyo Disneyland loudly pointed her out as an AV performer while she was there with a school friend. Her February Instagram story about it went viral in late October, drawing harsh replies. She says she visits twice a month and was mostly worried for her friend.
Tokyo Disneyland sells the Haunted Mansion as a ride full of ghosts. For Karin Kitaoka, the scariest thing in the building was the line.
The Japanese AV actress, 23, told NEWSポストセブン in an interview published Nov. 3 that a group of young men waiting near her kept loudly announcing what she does for a living. She had posted about it on Instagram stories back in February. In late October that story was screenshotted, spread across X and turned into a pile-on.
What she wrote
In English: “I just went to Disney with a classmate from my school days, and while we were in line for Haunted Mansion, people kept saying pretty loudly, stuff like ‘That’s someone who’s in AV!’ It was really unpleasant!”
She added that 〈(自分の)お仕事を伝えていない人もいる〉, meaning there are people in her life she has not told about her work. Plenty of replies on X were not sympathetic. One, quoted by the magazine, said 〈人に言えないような恥ずかしい仕事ならハナからすんなよ〉: “If it’s a job too embarrassing to tell people about, don’t do it in the first place.”
What happened in line
Kitaoka told the magazine she does not check social media much, did not notice the backlash at first and does not know why a February post took off in October. The visit, she said, was on Jan. 12, Japan’s Coming of Age Day. On the second page of the interview she explained:
「列に並んでいたら、たぶん成人式に参加した後と思われるスーツの男性数名が『あれ、見たことある』『出てる人だよ』って、わりと大きな声で話していて。ごく普通の若い男性でした。」
That is: “While we were in line, a few men in suits, probably coming from their Coming of Age ceremony, were talking fairly loudly: ‘Huh, I’ve seen her before,’ ‘She’s one of the ones in them.’ They were just ordinary young men.”
Her main worry was not herself. 「友だちは芸能とはまったく関係ないし、その子に申し訳ないと思いました」, she said: her friend has nothing to do with show business, and she felt bad for her. With families and children in the line, she called it 配慮に欠けるし品がない, inconsiderate and classless.
A very committed fan
The awkward part is that Disney is her happy place. She told the magazine she goes 「毎月2回は必ず」 (at least twice a month, without fail), sometimes solo, loves Cookie Ann from Duffy & Friends and has bought the latest Halloween Cookie Ann goods. A single visit can run past 30,000 yen, about $195. Adding up a year of it, she said, “ゾッとします”: it gives her chills.
On Oct. 28, as the old story spread, she posted on X with four photos: 〈もう1年近くディズニーではブチギレてませんから……基本いつもにこにこ楽しんでおりますから……(なんか見た)〉, or “I haven’t lost it at Disney in almost a year now… I’m basically always smiling and having fun… (saw something).”

NEWSポストセブン billed the piece as the first of two parts, with the second turning to how she sees her work. For now the score stands at one viral story, zero meltdowns in almost a year and, by her own count, a lot of Cookie Ann merch.
