In brief: Adult content creator Youssef Khelil, known online as Gattouz0, is being praised in Thailand after footage showed him helping push a car stalled in floodwater in Rawai, Phuket, Khaosod English and Rawai.com reported Nov. 3. On Nov. 1 he helped hand out rice, dried food and supplies at Wat Phithak Samanakit during a Kathin ceremony. Thai fans call him “P’Tao.”
Most viral videos of Gattouz0 are not the kind you show your grandmother. This one, Phuket would like everyone to know, is.
Youssef Khelil, the adult content creator better known online as Gattouz0, has been winning praise on Thai social media after helping motorists stuck in floodwater in Phuket, Khaosod English reported Nov. 3. Thai fans have a nickname for him: “P’Tao.”
A push in Rawai
The first clip showed Khelil and another foreign man helping push a stalled vehicle through floodwater in Rawai, in southern Phuket. Khaosod English said the footage was widely shared, and residents praised the pair for stepping in during the flooding.
Nobody in the clip asked who he was. The car needed pushing, and he pushed it.
Rice at the temple
Then came the second act. On Nov. 1, according to Rawai.com, Khelil joined a merit-making ceremony at Wat Phithak Samanakit in Talat Yai subdistrict, Mueang Phuket district, and helped distribute rice, dried food and other essential items to people in the community.
The handout was part of a Kathin ceremony, which Khaosod English describes as a traditional Buddhist merit-making event held after the annual rains retreat. The Phuket Times Facebook page highlighted his part in it on Nov. 3, Rawai.com said.
It is apparently not a one-off. Both outlets, citing local reports and Phuket Times, say he has previously donated supplies to children’s welfare facilities and communities around Phuket.
‘A kind heart’
The comments did the rest. “Thank you for helping Thai people,” one user wrote, as quoted by Khaosod English. Another said: “He may be an influencer, but regardless of what he does, he has a kind heart and helps others.”
On Rawai.com’s telling, one commenter went further: “When I grow up, I want to be like him.” Others, Khaosod English noted, joked that he seemed to have fallen in love with Thailand, given how much time he spends there.
Khelil grew up in Italy and started out as a freelance model before building a following as Gattouz0, according to Khaosod English. On X alone that following is past 4 million accounts, and he is one of the better-known names in adult content.
Rawai.com noted that the praise came “despite differing views about his work as an adult content creator.” That seems about right. Whatever people think of the day job, the people of Rawai had a car stuck in a flood, and the man with 4 million followers got his feet wet.
