Contains adult themes: this story covers an ad campaign by adult performers on an adult website. Nothing explicit is described.
In brief: Hot2Vote, a group of adult performers that describes itself as nonpartisan, bought banner space on Pornhub for Sunday through Tuesday, Nov. 1–3, the Washington Post reports. The ads feature four performers, including founder Siouxsie Q and Casey Calvert, and link to a page for finding polling places, early voting sites and drop boxes. Hot2Vote says it is the first public-interest ad Pornhub has run.
Pornhub’s front page has sold a lot of things. This weekend it’s selling polling places.
According to the Washington Post (Anna Liss-Roy, Oct. 31; text checked against a syndicated copy), the campaign runs Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on every mobile device in the country that uses Pornhub. Click the banner and you land on a page that helps you find “your nearest polling place, early voting site or drop box,” in the Post’s words. It may be the only click on the site that ends with leaving the house.
The slogans
The Post describes the copy. Over Siouxsie Q’s Marilyn Monroe homage: “YOU + ME + THE VOTING BOOTH! LET’S DO IT THIS TUESDAY!” Next to Casey Calvert, in hot pink: “MAKE A DATE WITH DEMOCRACY!”
Siouxsie Q, a director, producer and performer who co-founded Hot2Vote, told the Post her audience has taken her civic side well: “I’ve been very blessed to have fans that are not turned off by my activism. Actually, turned on.”
Calvert, more than a decade into her career, said she hopes to “cut through the standard stereotypical messaging that people receive all the time” and remind fans, “like, ‘Hey, this is important,’ in a place that they aren’t used to seeing that kind of messaging.” Few places qualify more.
A first, per Hot2Vote
This is the first time Pornhub has run public-interest advertising, according to Hot2Vote. The group declined to share the cost, and Pornhub did not respond to the Post’s request for comment. The four featured creators have a combined social following of about 2 million, the Post reports.
One of the campaign’s producers is Scott Goodstein, a digital strategist who led digital strategy for the Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders presidential campaigns. He told the Post adult performers may be more effective than other influencers because of the close relationship they have with their audience.

The group’s X account is doing its part. Its Oct. 31 post features Eve Batelle’s “hot take”: “the sexiest thing you can wear this season is an “I Voted” sticker.”
Not their first ballot
In September, Hot2Vote launched a $100,000 Atlanta campaign on Sept. 17 urging people to check their voter registration, Wet Ink reported, with the tagline “The stars always check their status, and so should you.” Wet Ink, citing AVN, listed more than 100 industry members, from Cherie DeVille and Siri Dahl to Holly Hendrix and Maddie Wren. Wet Ink describes the group as a nonpartisan project of Artists United for Change and the New Moon Network.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. For rules and locations where you live, go to vote.gov or your state election office.
