Pete Davidson Asked Influencers ‘What Do You Do?’ Sophie Rain Introduced Herself, Then Flirted With a Megan Fox Collab

In brief: Pete Davidson Asked Influencers ‘What Do You Do?’ Sophie Rain Introduced Herself, Then Flirted With a Megan Fox Collab.

Pete Davidson apparently thinks influencers get paid too much for doing too little. Sophie Rain took that personally, and then introduced herself.

On Sept. 30, Variety posted a clip from its “Ask a Local” segment, and it spread fast. “Girls are just talking to themselves on there and I’m like, ‘Who the f–k are you? What do you do? Nothing,'” Davidson said, per IBTimes UK, adding: “They make $40 million a year … what?” He didn’t name Rain. Rain, who has nearly 3.5 million X followers, first quote-posted Variety’s clip with “damn @ me next time 🤣,” then followed up on Oct. 3:

“who tf are you” hi Pete i am Sophie Rain 🫶🏼

That post passed 1.6 million views. In comments first published by the New York Post on Oct. 3, as IBTimes UK reported on Oct. 4 and again on Oct. 5, she went further:

“I don’t think saying women are doing ‘nothing’ because you don’t understand their jobs is particularly clever. There are definitely better jokes.”

She added that she might “dress up as someone who ‘does nothing’ and somehow still works 12-hour days.” IBTimes says Davidson hasn’t responded.

The money talk isn’t new for her. On Sept. 14 she took on the “stupid OnlyFans girl” label, saying she had made more than $120 million on the platform. That figure is her own claim and hasn’t been independently verified. On Sept. 18, answering people who say she’s a paid OnlyFans plant, she wrote: “i have made the money i have claimed to make,” adding that she doesn’t get paid by OnlyFans “in any way.”

September also brought runway walks at Miami Swim Week, a clip that topped 9.7 million views, and a boundary on Oct. 4: “i don’t think it’s asking too much for people to not show up to my house or dig into my personal life,” she posted. Fair enough.

Then on Oct. 9, as Megan Fox launched her page as a new co-owner of Subs.com, Rain quote-posted the news: “collab would go hard 👀.” Our read: that’s flirting, not an announcement, and nothing suggests a collaboration is planned.

Why it matters, as we see it: Davidson’s complaint boiled down to “What do you do? Nothing.” Rain’s month of runways, receipts, boundaries and a celebrity tease looks a lot like a full-time job, possibly a 12-hour one.
