One of Australia’s best-known sex workers has clocked out. Gold Coast creator Kayla Jade, known online as “Blue Eyed” Kayla Jade, told her followers in a 90-second TikTok video that she is leaving the industry, PerthNow reported on Oct. 16.
“I’m retiring from the industry,” she opened, in a video PerthNow says went out on Tuesday to her 2.4 million followers. “I have loved doing this so much, and it meant a lot to be able to share my life as a sex worker with you guys in the community who have accepted me for who I am and the questionable things I do.”
Over five years, the 32-year-old turned her client stories into a following of millions, a book called Call Girl Confidential and a podcast, Storytime with Kayla Jade. She says she has done what she set out to do. “My biggest goals when I started this work were to set my family up and give them a life that I thought I never could,” she said.
“I’ve been trying to make the most of all these opportunities while I can, and after all the travelling, touring, and celebrity freak-offs . . . I feel like I’m ready to take a step back from that lifestyle and spend more time chilling at home with my family.” — Kayla Jade
Jade said being away from home had gotten harder, and that the call came without much warning, even to her. “I always knew it couldn’t be forever, and I just feel like I was going to wake up one day and decide I’m done,” she said. “Turns out that day’s today.” She ended the video saying she is “so happy and content with life.”
She isn’t vanishing from screens, though. PerthNow says she plans to keep “doing influencer things and reality TV,” and some fans have already pitched her a snack-plate business, since her snacking spreads have their own cult following online.
