Angela White Admits ‘Air Kissing in VR Is Pretty Humbling,’ and the Future Still Has Some Bugs

In brief: Angela White: On Oct. 8, the Australian star posted one line to X: “Air kissing in VR is pretty humbling 😅😚”

Virtual reality promises total immersion. Angela White has a field report.

On Oct. 8, the Australian star posted one line to X: “Air kissing in VR is pretty humbling 😅😚”

That was the whole post, and it didn’t need more. The two emoji do the rest: one embarrassed grin, one kiss blown at nobody in particular.

VR has been a steady corner of adult entertainment for years, and the headset’s whole sales pitch is presence, the feeling that you’re really in the room. What it can’t supply yet, apparently, is someone on the other end of the pucker.

The image writes itself. A performer at the top of her field, goggles strapped on, leaning in toward a scene partner who exists only as pixels, and meeting nothing but air.

It’s a nice reminder that even the people who make this content run into the same awkward moments as everyone else trying new tech. Somewhere, a first-time VR user who walked into a coffee table can feel a little better.

White didn’t say what she was working on or which headset was involved, and we won’t guess.

But the review is in, and it’s the most honest product feedback the VR industry has gotten in a while: the graphics are great, the kissing still needs work.

Until then, the kiss stays on the list of features the headset makers haven’t figured out yet, alongside not tripping over the couch.

Somewhere a hardware engineer is taking notes.
