Cam Girl Diaries Host Reads a Viral UK ‘Banned Porn’ List On Air and Asks, ‘Is Dexter Allowed in the UK?’ The Actual Law, Which Starts Nov. 6, Is Much Narrower

Contains adult themes: this story covers a podcast discussion of UK pornography law. Nothing explicit is described.

In brief: On a solo episode of Cam Girl Diaries posted Oct. 31, host Gary Gabagool read out a viral list of supposedly banned UK porn categories, from face-sitting to butt drops, and asked whether Dexter is next. The real change is narrower: from Nov. 6, England and Wales criminalise possessing or publishing realistic porn depicting strangulation or suffocation, sex between certain relatives, or people who are or pretend to be under 16. None of the viral list’s named categories appear in the government’s guidance.

Gary Gabagool has opinions about British lawmakers, and on episode 11 of Cam Girl Diaries After Dark, a solo outing titled “The UK Is Criminalizing Adult Content?!,” he aired all of them. The trigger was a notice circulating on X, which he read on camera, telling UK-based sellers that content in a long list of categories “will be removed from your store entirely and not only restricted from view for UK fans.” The notice called it “a legal requirement under UK law.”

His reply, at about 19:46: “Yeah, it is. You’re f***ing banning that s***.” He then urged the platform to “have some f***ing balls” before pausing to wonder whether the UK is a country, adding, “I forget how it works.”

The list, and the Dexter question

Working through the categories, he landed on his central objection: it’s acting. “Are they banning f***ing movies or TV shows?” he asked at about 16:53. “Is Dexter allowed in the UK? Can you not watch Dexter?” He then talked himself out of his own example, conceding the fictional serial killer is “actually a good guy.”

Butt drops got the WWE treatment at about 18:35: “They’re banning butt drops? Don’t they do butt drops in like the WWE and s***? So are they banning wrestling?” Scissoring, jeans face-sitting and trampling fantasy each got a similar, increasingly baffled reading.

What the law actually says

Here is where the viral list and the statute part ways. According to GOV.UK guidance on the Crime and Policing Act 2026, from Nov. 6 it becomes an offence in England and Wales to possess or publish pornographic images that explicitly and realistically depict strangulation or suffocation; penetrative sex between people who appear to be, or are pretending to be, certain relatives; or sexual activity where someone is, or is pretending to be, under 16. The commencement regulations (SI 2026/1090) bring those sections into force on that date.

BBW, face-sitting, scissoring, trampling, butt drops and plastic fetish are not named anywhere in the guidance, so the list contradicts the law as published rather than summarising it. The one real overlap is suffocation: the guidance says the term isn’t defined, will be decided by courts case by case, and “could, for example, involve covering someone’s mouth and nose or compressing their chest.” The offences cover only images that look real to a reasonable person, and a store removing more than the law requires is a business decision, not the statute.

Penalties per GOV.UK: up to two years for possessing strangulation, suffocation or relatives material, three years for under-16 roleplay, and up to five years for publishing any of it. Possession and publication are continuing acts, so existing material has to be deleted or taken down before Nov. 6. Defences exist, including for people who appear in the image themselves and meet other criteria.

So, Dexter

Dexter is not pornography, so the offences don’t touch it. Gabagool’s wider point, that performers are acting, is closer to the law’s own wording than he might expect: it is aimed at what a reasonable viewer would think is real. Whether that comforts a UK creator sorting through their back catalog this week is another question.
