Such a sweet soul! RIP RJ Mitte 💔
Mitte, who lived with cerebral palsy and drew on that experience to play Walter White’s son on “Breaking Bad,” died Monday at age 34, the Associated Press reported, citing authorities and his representatives. The BBC reported that he died in Brownsville, Texas, and that he earned a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2014 for his work on the series. Brownsville police said the cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
His representative told the BBC: “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte.” According to the BBC, Mitte served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s and created The Mitte Foundation.
Ward, who is set to appear at EXXXOTICA New Jersey later this month, posted her tribute Monday afternoon.
Our condolences to Mitte’s family and friends. If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 in the U.S.
