OnlyFans Star Skylar Mae Has a Message for Girlfriends Banning GTA VI: ‘At Least Their Boyfriends Aren’t Cheating on Them in Real Life’

In brief: OnlyFans creator Skylar Mae told Jam Press, as reported by the New York Post on Nov. 1, that women banning their partners from Grand Theft Auto VI over its in-game relationships and strip clubs should relax. Her pitch: virtual cheating at home beats the real thing, and the girlfriends should pick up a controller themselves.

Grand Theft Auto VI is weeks from release and has already been accused of the one crime the franchise never got around to: emotional infidelity.

Weighing in for the defense is Skylar Mae, the OnlyFans creator, who told Jam Press, in comments reported by the New York Post on Nov. 1, that the girlfriends trying to ban the game need to calm down.

The case for the prosecution

The debate, per the Post, was kicked off by a wave of TikTok videos from women announcing their partners are banned from GTA VI because of its lead characters, Jason and Lucia. The most prominent came from Shelby Haas, who has 1.1 million TikTok followers and said her fiancé isn’t allowed to play after learning players must maintain a relationship with a female character, text her and take her on dates. She also disapproves of the strip clubs.

“Don’t let your boyfriend, fiancé or husband play GTA6,” Haas told viewers, according to the Post. “The entire male population is going way downhill… why are you in love with pixels?” One commenter, the Post reports, branded the game “demonic as hell.” It is, to be fair, a game in which you mostly steal cars.

The case for the defense

Mae’s argument is a ranking system, and pixels come out on top. “They could be out at a real strip club or actually cheating on you in real life,” she told Jam Press. “It’s the same thing with OnlyFans. Hey, at least they’re doing it at home and not physically cheating on you with someone else!”

That is a professional opinion. Few people are better placed to explain the economics of men forming relationships with women they will never meet, and she has made the same argument about her own business: the screen is the safe option.

The Post says Mae doesn’t understand why women are “getting so worked up” over a fictional relationship. Her solution isn’t a ban but a second controller. “My advice is to 100% play the game for yourself!” she said. “I think these girls should just jump on the game, take a look and chill out, because at least their boyfriends aren’t cheating on them in real life!”

Couples therapy, now available on PlayStation 5.

A crowded field

GTA VI keeps getting dragged into relationship arguments. Lena the Plug once set fans a choice of her or GTA 6. Mae, who the Post described as 21 in July 2025, has now picked a side in a fight nobody can win: she would rather your boyfriend be in love with Lucia than in a strip club. Lucia, for her part, has not commented.
