Summer Hart’s Advice ‘From an Old Pro’: Get Model Releases and IDs ‘Every Scene, Every Time’

In brief: On Oct. 11, Summer Hart posted a compliance PSA on X telling creators to get model releases and IDs for every scene, a day after announcing her final days at Nevada’s Mustang Ranch, which run through Oct. 14.

Contains adult themes: this story discusses adult-industry work; embedded posts are from the creator’s own X account.

Most of Summer Hart’s X feed is promotion. On Oct. 11 she posted something closer to a public-service announcement.

Please take it from an old pro, get model releases and IDs for every scene, every time, no matter who film with.

There was no link and no sales pitch, just one sentence of paperwork advice. She didn’t say what prompted it.

Why the paperwork matters

In the US, producers of sexually explicit material must check and keep records of every performer’s age and identity under 18 U.S.C. § 2257. Platforms such as OnlyFans also require ID and release forms for anyone who appears in a creator’s content. For independent creators who collaborate, that means getting the forms before filming, every time. If a collaborator’s paperwork is missing, the platform can remove content or suspend the account. Her advice is boring and correct, which is the best kind.

Last call at the ranch

A day earlier, on Oct. 10, she posted what she called her “Last chance” notice: she was at the Mustang Ranch “here until 10/14” and gave a booking email.

Last chance to come let me put it on you at the Mustang Ranch 🐎 – here until 10/14- email SumerHart@MustangRanch.com

— @SummerHartxxx on X,

The Mustang Ranch is a licensed brothel near Reno; brothels are legal in some Nevada counties. The dates come from her post. Section 2257’s record-keeping rules are federal law; platform ID rules vary by site.

So the “old pro” has two messages this week: check IDs on every scene, and book the ranch before Oct. 14.
