Meagan Moore Learned ‘Not to Post in Real Time’ the Hard Way, After a Fan Came Looking in Miami

In brief: On Holly Randall Unfiltered (Oct. 12), Meagan Moore said a fan who followed her real-time posts in Miami taught her “not to post in real time.”

Every creator gets a lesson in online safety eventually. Meagan Moore got hers in Miami.

The episode “From Small Town North Carolina Girl to Rising Adult Star: Meagan Moore’s Story” (Oct. 12) is on Holly Randall Unfiltered. Its description calls her a once “shy, camera-averse girl from a small town in North Carolina who once worked in a hospital.” About 41 minutes in, Randall asked about a stalker.

‘Since day one’

my first situation was when I was in Miami and I actually learned not to post in real time because of this

It had never happened to her before, she said (41:22). He was an OnlyFans subscriber, “a good fan, you know. Um, he’d been there since day one, but then he started getting a little more crazy.” Asked whether he thought they had a real relationship, she said no: “he knew what it was,” but he was “starting to become obsessed in like the bad way” (41:42).

She was posting in real time, and the man, who she said lived “I think” in New York, came to Miami (42:15). When she posted from the city center, he started sending her pictures of where he was trying to find her, along with messages “on like all the platforms”: “I’m looking for you. I’m going to find you” (42:40).

“It started off as like okay it’s fun,” she said, “but then it got to a point where he’s trying to hunt me down, like actively hunt me down” (42:47). He would show up at places after she had left, “just to say that you were there after I was there.”

What came after

It wasn’t a one-off. “That’s happened honestly way too many” times, she said, with “different guys” (43:22). The Miami situation ended when she moved: “I’d left Miami. I came out here and I just stopped posting about what I’m doing or where I’m going” (43:34). Fans learn your routine, she warned, “and then they’ll show up there. So now I try to keep it very private.”

The only interruption came mid-story (41:56), when a picture of her parents fell off the wall and someone asked, “is that the stalker?” It wasn’t.

The account is Moore’s own. The show’s Oct. 7 podcast episode listing describes the same story of an obsessive fan who followed her in real time, but it comes from the same show, so it isn’t independent confirmation. We found no police or news report on the incident, and it is presented here only as she described it.

Her takeaway is the most practical advice on the internet: share the beach pics after you’ve left the beach.
