Bryan Dubois Went From France’s Secret Story to Adult Content. His First Price Was $250. He Says It Now Sells for $25

In brief: On The Lexis Star Show (EP58, Oct. 6), French reality-TV alum Bryan Dubois said sponsorship money dried up and that he first priced his content at $250, now $25–35 a video. He said he was 19 on Secret Story; listings put him at 20.

Asked why he switched from reality TV to adult content, Bryan Dubois gave a one-word answer: “Money.”

Dubois, introduced as “B-Boy,” was the guest on “He Left Reality TV To Build His Own Empire | Bryan Dubois EP58” (The Lexis Star Show, Oct. 6).

From dropout to Secret Story

He said he moved to the US at 17 “because I was a bad student,” after being kicked out of a strict Paris school after six months. His father sent him to New York to take the GED; he didn’t. He wanted to try Santa Monica College instead, then “I got picked for a show which is called” Secret Story, France’s Big Brother. “So I was 19 at that time,” he said.

He lasted seven weeks and didn’t win, and said his secret meant “I knew I was not going to win any money.” What he did win was followers: “on Instagram, I had like 250K more.” He said being 19 made him come across “a bit like uh rude and a bit arrogant.” By his count he did four shows before he stopped; on one, set in Marbella, he cried on camera over a girl whose ex joined the cast. “I look so young or so innocent and crying like a kid. I don’t like it.”

The $250 mistake

Then sponsorships collapsed. He blamed dropshipping scams that made influencers look like “stealers.” “So, I had to find something else,” he said. His first pricing decision did not go well:

And I put 250, not a dollar.

“I just didn’t know what I was doing,” he said. Asked what he charges now: “25 … 25 or 35,” for a whole video, which he said runs 15 to 20 minutes. He said he out-earns many models because he films with different partners, an arrangement his girlfriend has accepted, “sometimes no back and forth.”

He also mentioned a one-off MMA bout at a Swiss event, saying he won by first-round choke after three months of training, that the reposts drew “like 30 million views on Tik Tok,” and that it cost him money. He said he gets more hate for adult content than for reality TV, and calls French critics “hypocrite because they all use it.”

Dubois appeared on Secret Story 11 in 2017. Fan wiki and TV listings put him at 20, not the 19 he gave on the show and in the episode description. A French reality-TV wiki dates his move to adult platforms to January 2023. His earnings, the MMA result and the view counts are his own account.

He went from a $250 price tag to $25 and from one reality show to four. His advice to his younger self: “it takes six years.”
