Hot2Vote describes itself on its website as “a nonpartisan 501c3 compliant nonprofit collaborative of creators, artists, small business owners, and organizers.” Its stated goal is to inspire voters to protect “privacy and pleasure.” The site quotes DeVille directly: “I believe, now more than ever, we need to use that power at the voting booths. If something matters to you, make your voice heard!”
The group has been busy. Mashable reported Sept. 17 that Hot2Vote launched a $100,000 ad campaign, made by more than 100 adult creators, urging Georgia voters to “check their status” after the state removed more than 470,000 names from its voter rolls last year. The campaign included SFW videos from entertainers including DeVille and King Noire, along with pinup-style PSA posters in Atlanta’s nightclub districts.
ASNHub said the campaign’s slogan was “The stars always check their status, and so should you.” Its member list includes Ana Foxxx, Freya Von Doom, Kira Noir, Siri Dahl and Jenna Haze, along with DeVille. The Atlanta ads ran through Oct. 4.
DeVille’s post went out a few weeks before the November midterms, and the Hot2Vote site is still asking visitors to check their registration.
She already has a big night on her calendar: she and Skitty are hosting the AVN Awards. Before that, she wants everyone else checking a list of their own.
