In brief: Candice Hollaway & Eva Lovia: As Indiatimes reported on Sept. 17, she has built her own following as a relationship commentator who argues that relationships work best when men lead, protect and provide while women focus on nurturing and supporting the family.
The internet spent mid-September “exposing” a secret that the people involved had already discussed on a podcast. Three years ago.

The target was Dan Hollaway, host of Drinkin’ Bros and co-host of Citizen Podcast, whose views on masculinity, American identity and traditional family structures are central to his brand. In mid-September, critics on X began circulating the fact that his wife, Candice Hollaway, previously worked in adult film as Eva Lovia, and used it to question whether a couple selling traditional values had any business doing so.
Candice isn’t a bystander in the messaging. As Indiatimes reported on Sept. 17, she has built her own following as a relationship commentator who argues that relationships work best when men lead, protect and provide while women focus on nurturing and supporting the family. That is precisely the combination that made her an irresistible target: a former performer, now a public voice for traditional femininity.
The twist is that none of this was hidden. Indiatimes put it bluntly: “But the history is hardly a secret.” Candice entered the industry in the early 2010s, later left, and has talked about being Eva Lovia herself, including on a 2023 Drinkin’ Bros episode with Dan among the hosts that dealt openly with her former career and its effect on their marriage. Supporters pushed back on exactly that point, Indiatimes reported, noting she has never tried to erase the Eva Lovia chapter of her life.
That didn’t slow anyone down. Some posts moved from hypocrisy arguments into personal attacks on her past and their marriage, Indiatimes noted, and a Sept. 17 post quoted by Indiatimes claimed Dan had locked his X account and gone into “PR Crisis” mode. The timing didn’t help: the online “tradwife” world was still sore from a separate scandal earlier this year, which made every trad-adjacent couple fair game for a credibility audit.
Why it matters, in our read: adult performers who leave the business are often told to move on. Then, when they do, their past becomes ammunition for anyone who dislikes their next chapter. The real fight here isn’t about Eva Lovia at all. It’s about whether a person’s public politics have to match their past, and the internet’s answer, as usual, depends entirely on whose politics they are.
The family-values crowd and its critics will keep fighting about it. Candice, meanwhile, already told this story herself. On a podcast. With her husband in the room.
