That’s the whole post: one typo-friendly diagnosis, one request for visitors, and one emoji that suggests she isn’t asking for chicken soup.
It’s a familiar move for creators. A sick day can’t fully be a day off when the audience never clocks out, so the sniffles become content too. Most people post a photo of a thermometer. Reign skipped the thermometer.
The timing is notable. She posted it just minutes after telling followers she had binged all of Netflix’s East of Eden, which is about as convincing a doctor’s note as you’ll find. Seven episodes of Steinbeck is a recovery plan.
It’s also been a chatty month for her account. Earlier in October she asked fans what she should dress up as for Halloween, so her followers are used to being consulted.
There’s no word on what the illness was, and we won’t play doctor. It sounded like the ordinary, mild kind, the kind that leaves you on the couch with the remote and your phone.
For the record, the prescription from her followers wasn’t published. The replies stayed brief.
Get-well wishes are free. Bedside visits, presumably, are not.
Here’s hoping the patient is up and around soon. Plenty of people seem willing to volunteer for bedside duty.
